Labor of Love

I have a sweet friend, Theresa, who I met in Residence Life. She and her husband have two little boys and her third was due this month. When she went for her 20 week ultrasound, they discovered that Baby Josh had a fatal form of Brittle Bone Syndrome. They knew that if Josh was born alive he wouldn't live for long. They chose to carry the pregnancy to term. Joshua Liam was born on Wednesday morning and lived for 21 minutes. It was a sweet time for Theresa and Jason to spend with their precious angel. I was blessed to be able to make this outfit for Joshua. It was something I will never forget. I needed to alter the pattern to make it tiny and I put a zipper in the front instead of buttons in the back to make it a little less awkward to put on Josh. I'm so glad I was able to do this for my friend.

Out of Emery's Mouth

It doesn't end. This kid has me laughing often. Just two shorts from this week. Emery has a rope (remember this post?) and he has started using it on his sister. So the other night (as he's swinging his rope, tied into a lasso), "Chani can you be my cow? Say MOOOOO! Now, run!" And then, "Please can't you run? Cows need exercise too!"

Today, I have been trying to finish up a jumper for Chani. I hope to post pictures soon (maybe Sunday). So, I put the zipper in and tried it on her and as I zipped it up, Emery said, "OK, now Chani jump. It can make you jump." His little mind is always working and you can almost see the gears turning when you look at his face.

What I do all day....

I must spend too much time shopping for fabric. I am working on a dress for myself (pictures will come when it's done), and I had some fabric spread out on the floor, and Emery came over. "Do you work here?" He said. "I'd like four cuts of this, please."

I love this kid!
