At Kroger a few weeks ago, I got baby carrots for 20 cents a bag. I bought all they had. So now, with an abundance of carrots, what's a girl to do? Anyone have a fantastic carrot recipe that I have to have? We made carrot cookies this week, and they were more delicious than I remember as a kid. Of course, maybe it was the huge pile of chopped pecans that I put in these ones. At any rate, they were yummy, and Emery has been asking for those carrot cookies all week.

Chani's hair is really coming in. It's long on top and in the back, although there's not enough for two ponys in the back, one side is pretty thin. It must be how she sleeps. This morning while she was eating her cereal, she got milk in her hair, what were you saying about Clayton's table manners, Millie? I couldn't resist these pictures.

Emery is getting too smart for his own good. The other day he was walking through the dining room and this was the conversation:
E: I need my wife.
M: Who's your wife?
E: You're my wife.
C:She's not your wife, she's my wife.
E: No, Mama is my wife.
C: No, my wife.
This went on for quite a while, Clint and Emery discussing who I belonged to. It was cute.

In other Emery news, he read me an entire alphabet book yesterday afternoon. It was so fun to hear him say each letter and then tell me what sounds they make. He's a smart one!

Coming up
Some pictures and a real post, that's what! For now, know that Chani peed on the potty today (yippeeee!) and Emery peed in his pants (sigh).
My friend Cheryl is having a fantastic turning thirty giveaway. Check it out here. Happy birthday, my friend.
I ran 2.25 miles this morning and feel great. See you soon!

We're home!
We had a great week staying with our friends. The kids are fantastic, well behaved, kind, and very helpful! My kids loved having older people to trail and dogs to see every second. We felt very at home and Emery misses the Lego's at that house. I'm exhausted and glad that babies come one at a time, and that they come as babies! Thanks for a fun week, B family!!!

Paying it forward...
My dear friend Julie has this on her blog and I thought it sounded like so much fun. So this is how it works..... The first 3 people to leave a comment on this will receive a hand made gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch...You knew there would be didn't you? Post this on your blog then come back and leave a comment, telling me you're in. Fun, huh? Remember, only the first 3 comments receive the gift

Leaving town
The kids and I are headed to Houston to stay with some kids whose parents who will be out of town for a week. Clint has to work, so he won't be with me, and I'm a little nervous about being the single mother of 6 for a week. We'll have a good time, though, and we'll be back after Valentines Day. Have a wonderful week! When I get back I'm hosting a game night, and I can't wait to share my hostess recipes....

Oh, what do you do in the summer time...oh wait, January...when all the world is green?
This song has been in my head all weekend. On Saturday afternoon, it was beautiful here, almost 75 degrees. I watered my garden and the kids wanted to be in the water badly. I didn't want them trampling on my peas, so I told them they could run through it after I was done watering. It was a fun afternoon of water playing. Chani wasn't to happy to run in the water, but she did love to splash in the water she spilled on the cement from the dog dish.
