The kids are watching this DVD that we got from the library, I love checking out movies. If you don't know Olivia, you're missing out. Here are two things Clint and I have chuckled out loud about this morning.
Olivia: If your mom asks if you want a baby brother or a baby sister, it doesn't mean you're going to get what you want.
Mom: I don't understand how you could forget one of our children at the store.
Dad: Maybe next time you should write their names on the grocery list so I can bring them home from the market.

But I still love you!
Emery is something else. On Sunday during Primary (our church organization for children) Emery was sitting with his class and his teacher was not in the room. They were not being as reverent as I wanted, so I went and sat next to Emery on the row. He said, "No mom! I don't want you to sit there, go back to your seat." I told him if he would be reverent, I would move. He promised he would, again saying, "Don't sit here!" I moved and then he turned around and loudly exlaimed, "But, I still love you, mom!" When I didn't respond, he got louder, "Mom, I love you. I still love you, mom!"

The West
Oh ye mountains high, where the clear blue sky
Arches over the vales of the free,
Where the pure breezes blow and the clear streamlets flow
How I've longed to your bosom to flee!
We sang this song in church several months ago, and I felt the strongest pull to the west. There was a job posted in February in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We considered applying for it and even started filling out the application. Then another job was posted in Montana that we wanted more (it was closer to home, in a town that my parents used to live in, and it seemed like a good fit), so we sent that application instead. It was a no and then there was a job posted in Twin Falls, Idaho, which was the job we've always wanted. That job was also filled without Clint getting an interview.
It was a few weeks later that the Cheyenne job was reposted. Usually when that happens, it means that no one was hired from the previous round of interviews. We talked about it for a long while before we sent an application. After we sent it in, things have just fallen into place in such a way that it's impossible for us to deny that Heaven has had a distinct hand in how it's happened.
Clint had a phone interview and then an on campus interview yesterday. He flew from Lake Charles, LA to Houston, and then to Denver. He had to change planes in Houston and his flight got into the airport late. When he got to the train, it was down. There were hordes of people and no one was moving. The time was ticking by and he wasn't sure what to do. He said a small prayer and got the distinct prompting to follow a group of pilots. They went down some stairs, out of security, caught a different train, went to the correct terminal, went back through security and caught his flight just in time.
The housing market here is pretty bad right now, and in our neighborhood there are 19 homes for sale. Upon contacting our Realtor, she told us about a HUD program that rents homes. When we contacted HUD about this program, we were told that there was a woman who was interested in our home and that they'd give us more than $200 over what our house payment is. We're hoping to have that settled by the end of next week.
So, if you've read this long post this far, thanks! We're moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 7 short weeks. There's so much to do and I will be busy, but it will be a great form of busy!
Mountains high and clear blue sky, here we come!

We love Daddy!

Chani says: I love daddy because he's my favorite pal.

Emery says: I love Daddy because I like to play with him out in the dinosaur park with him and because he takes me there. And I love Daddy because he took me to see Toy Story 3.
Mom says: I love Clint because he's my best friend, and even after almost 10 years he's still putting up with me.
Thanks love!

Food for Thought
Siblings are prisoners, genetically sentenced to live together with no time off for good behavior.

Bath bargain
The other day, Emery really wanted a bath. I really didn't want to mess with a bath, since showers are so much easier around here. But, I told Emery if he could spell BATH, he could have a bath. He got out a sheet of paper and went to work.
Here's the first attempt.
And the second attempt. Notice the ripped paper, Chani got to it before I got to it with the camera. That happens a lot around here.
Emery was thrilled with the bath, and I was thrilled with the sounding out and spelling.
Rash Update
The spots are gone. It was some sort of virus, it ran the course and now it's gone. It was replaced by a respiratory bug, which has forced us to do some breathing treatments. I think we're finally on the mend.

A case of spots
My kids have a mysterious case of spots. I don't know what they are or where they came from. They are only located on their torso, not on face, arms, or legs. Can anyone diagnosis this for me? My friend's boys have them too....but not her daughter. They are not blistery like chicken pox, they are not odd shaped like hives. Emery has more than Chani, if that matters. Sorry, these images are not great, the flash made Emery's skin white, and without the flash they are a bit fuzzy.
