"Duck, duck, duck..."

Last weekend was Stake Conference. Because our branch is over 4000 square miles, you can imagine the size of our stake. We're in the Rapid City, South Dakota Stake and Rapid City is about 100 miles from Chadron. I had a work obligation Saturday morning, so we didn't leave Chadron until about 3 PM. We pulled into town and ran a few errands. When we got to our hotel (booked especially for the pool and water slide), the pool was not working. Not good, not good at all. We had been talking to Emery about this swimming experience for a week. He was so excited. Canceled the reservation and tried the hotel next door, $100 for one night. The hotel on the other side, no pool. Both kids are screaming, Clint is getting slightly irritated, I am frustrated as this will blow our budget and why does this always happen to me! We finally settle on a Days Inn, solely because of the indoor pool that we can see from the road, that looks pretty fun. The room was slightly more expensive (what's $30 for the happiness of your child), but we finally got in and fed the kids dinner. Then it was off to the pool. It was fun to break in the new swimwear that the Easter Bunny left at our house. Emery liked the warmer water in the hot tub (it wasn't all that warm, just warmer than the pool), and Chani laughed and giggled, and splashed away in the pool. I was a little surprised that Chani liked it so well, but she would have stayed there all night. Emery loved jumping off the edge of the pool to his dad. On Sunday after Stake Conference, which was great, by the way, we went to the nearby park to have a picnic lunch before driving home. This particular park has a little creek running through it and tons of ducks. Emery had a blast chasing the ducks and feeding them bread. We enjoyed a fun time visiting with friends and enjoying a nice meal before heading back to Chadron. Also included are a few pictures.

And finally, enjoy this video of Emery and the ducks!

Too cute! Your kids are adorable and I loved the Duck video. :)

Wow. Your stake is so huge! The things we take for granted, sometimes. Our ward in CA was about the size of a Stake or Two, but our ward here in UT? Yeah, four blocks. We walk to church. Seriously, you guys are the valiant ones!

First of all, the dress is just beautiful. I made Chloe & Lily's easter dresses 2 years ago, there ones from last year are still in my sewing box unfinished, and this year I bought them at Shopko! I love that you didn't!
Our stake in Buffalo was not at all close to that size, what a crazy thing to live in such a sparsely populated (not to mention church-wise) area. Good for you guys for making those trips.
