my morning news

I've become my mother!  I used to think it was so lame because she only ever listened to NPR in the car.  It also played on the Bose in the kitchen while she prepared dinner.  I've started listening to NPR when I drive Emery to school.  I also like catching it in the afternoon/evening.  Even Clint is converted.  We try to come up with places to go on Saturday morning so we can hear Car Talk.  My favorite part of NPR is on Friday mornings at 8:20 they play a Story Corps Clip.  They have a podcast and a website.  You can listen to clips that people have recorded about their lives.  One person interviews another person about whatever they want.  In February, most of the clips were about husbands and wives (so sweet).  I listened to two daughters interview their dad, who had Alzheimer's.  The one last week was about some Vets.  Here's the grain of wisdom they shared.  "We are moving forward.  That's why we comb our hair backwards."  I've also loved A Prairie Home Companion since I was very small.  It makes me laugh out loud!
