When my mom was here in November, we went to the fabric store to find some fabric for Chani's Christmas dress. They had a dress on display at the store that my mom and I stood and stared at for a long time. It was beautiful. I knew I wanted to make it for myself (and I haven't made myself a dress in nearly 10 years). The fabric store was out of the fabric they had used in the sample dress, and I knew I only wanted it in that fabric. I called several other fabric stores, and no one had more than a yard or two. I needed three. My sweet sister came to the rescue in Seattle. They had a whole bolt at her store. She sent me three yards...I think I still owe her money. I needed a little help with the hidden zipper and a sweet sister from my ward came over one evening after the kids were in bed to help me. In addition to getting the zipper in, we had a very nice visit. Thanks, Susan!
I love how it turned out. It is exactly like the one in the store (with the addition of cap sleeves). What do you think?

Yes, love the dress. Sorry it took me a while to comment on this post. But I love it. You are so talented.
Oh and I love your new short hair. Don't know when you cut it, but it's cute!
