Oh ye mountains high, where the clear blue sky
Arches over the vales of the free,
Where the pure breezes blow and the clear streamlets flow
How I've longed to your bosom to flee!
We sang this song in church several months ago, and I felt the strongest pull to the west. There was a job posted in February in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We considered applying for it and even started filling out the application. Then another job was posted in Montana that we wanted more (it was closer to home, in a town that my parents used to live in, and it seemed like a good fit), so we sent that application instead. It was a no and then there was a job posted in Twin Falls, Idaho, which was the job we've always wanted. That job was also filled without Clint getting an interview.
It was a few weeks later that the Cheyenne job was reposted. Usually when that happens, it means that no one was hired from the previous round of interviews. We talked about it for a long while before we sent an application. After we sent it in, things have just fallen into place in such a way that it's impossible for us to deny that Heaven has had a distinct hand in how it's happened.
Clint had a phone interview and then an on campus interview yesterday. He flew from Lake Charles, LA to Houston, and then to Denver. He had to change planes in Houston and his flight got into the airport late. When he got to the train, it was down. There were hordes of people and no one was moving. The time was ticking by and he wasn't sure what to do. He said a small prayer and got the distinct prompting to follow a group of pilots. They went down some stairs, out of security, caught a different train, went to the correct terminal, went back through security and caught his flight just in time.
The housing market here is pretty bad right now, and in our neighborhood there are 19 homes for sale. Upon contacting our Realtor, she told us about a HUD program that rents homes. When we contacted HUD about this program, we were told that there was a woman who was interested in our home and that they'd give us more than $200 over what our house payment is. We're hoping to have that settled by the end of next week.
So, if you've read this long post this far, thanks! We're moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 7 short weeks. There's so much to do and I will be busy, but it will be a great form of busy!
Mountains high and clear blue sky, here we come!
