Idaho Trip 10

Ok, know before I start this, I did not utilize my camera very well. It sat in my purse everywhere we were, but I didn't take it out and use it. Bummer!

10. Papa and the sleigh. My dad has a beautiful sleigh that he built several years ago. Each winter he hitches up the horse and takes everyone for a ride. At the beginning of December, my dad had his hip replaced. Emery asked several times for Papa to take him on a sleigh ride. I told Emery I didn't think Papa was up for it. Then, Papa said he was going to do it. I caught the horse and my Dad came out with the bells to hitch up the sleigh. But, it was missing. It had been loaned out and not returned. I am grateful that my dad was willing and tried to take Emery for a ride, even on crutches.
9. Little elves to help wrap Christmas this year. I brought a basket of presents (not one was wrapped). My nieces and nephew jumped right in while my sister in law was watching my kids at her house. I think I wrapped one present this year. Thanks a bunch!
8. Sewing, sewing, sewing. Thanks Charlynn, Sally, and Mom for the help. I could not have finished the pillow pets without each of you.
7. The Debate breakfast. It was very small, but I had a really nice visit with my sister and Mrs. Hansen.
6. Sledding with cousins. No pictures, but it was a blast.
5. Christmas breakfast at the Stewarts and Christmas dinner at the Readings. Yum!
4. No road closures while we were on the road. This is huge. I was terrified of getting stranded across Wyoming. Clint was an awesome and patient driver, and the kids were pretty good travelers.
3. Birthday lunch with my sisters. I always miss birthday lunch since I live so far away, but Cathrynn organized it just for me. Thanks, girls, it was fun!
2. Daddy took Emery and Chani on snowmobile rides. Thanks, Uncle Jason, for letting us use your sled.
1. The barn trek. Each year the Stewart family dresses warmly and goes out to the barn where Papa reads the Christmas story from Luke 2, and we sing Christmas carols. It's a lovely tradition and one that I long for each year. It was a relatively warm year, and not freezing like some years. After that, Christmas chaos in the house unwrapping presents. We got some great things from my siblings, monogrammed towels, homemade granola, personalized cookie jars, mapleine for syrup, insulated bags for shopping or camping, the most awesome nativity puzzle, and back scratchers, personalized bow holders, and a cute swim cover-up. Thanks everybody!

It sounds like such a wonderful trip, even if it was a little long.

And seriously...You MADE the pillow pets? Amazing!!!! I bet the kids loved them

I love the family picture in your Christmas post -- we're all growing up, aren't we? The kids are just adorable and you are more beautiful with every passing year.
