This spring one of my preschool moms asked if I wanted to send Emery to a preschool at the high school for 4 weeks. I agreed, mostly because I knew it would be good for him to have some practice following instructions from someone besides me. I don't know that he learned anything at preschool, but he sure loved painting (every day) and snacks, and hanging out with high school kids. The last day they had a little ice cream party and his teacher handed out certificates. I was able to keep myself together until Emery realized we were there and came running over to us. He threw his arm around Chani and proudly exclaimed, "This is my sister Chani! Chani, isn't my school cool?" It was adorable and I was a wreck from there on out. I'm emotional anyways, but this pregnancy has been horrible. I can't keep my emotions in check. One of the high school boys told me that he's a senior and his mom cries like I was every day. I hope this passes before then, because I may not make it.
Here's the one photo I snapped. This is Emery, getting his certificate from the main teacher, Mrs. Bonham who he called Mrs. Bottom for most of the four weeks.
This week, after school ended, I made muffins for the high school kids in his class (40 of them for Monday) and then my friend made another 40 for the Tuesday class. It's no wonder when I asked Emery what the high school students names were he couldn't tell me any of them. He rotated through more than 70 kids in two days. They loved him, though. Most of them came over to tell me what a good kid he was, how funny he is, or they loved the stories he ALWAYS tells.
I just love this boy. I can't believe he's starting kindergarten soon, but I am so glad he is. He's excited and ready to start this phase of his life.

It is hard to send kids to Pre-K. My older kids didn't go to school until kindergarten but I sent Brady, Katie and now Hannah (mostly for the social interaction since everyone else is in school). My hubby believes they should stay home with their parents as long as possible before they have to start school.
