A new roof

We had a hail storm roll through about 3 weeks ago. It was only 3 days after we unpacked the house. When we purchased the house, the roof was replaced by the seller. So, our new roof (less than a month) was destroyed by ping pong sized hail. We also have 3 broken windows and the gutters and downspouts need to be replaced. To save money, Clint and I decided to do the project ourselves. Stripping shingles is not an easy task. Especially brand new shingles. They're really heavy. We started on Wednesday and it took us until Thursday evening to get all the shingles off. We're grateful to Isaac and Jared for all the help stripping. On Friday, another friend, Brother Waddell came and helped pull nails and clean the roof off so shingles could be put back down. He also told us that he had a friend who would put the shingles on for a great deal.

With sore hands and sore backs, Clint and I called Carlos and his buddies. They've been here for less than an hour and they are a quarter of the way finished. Our friends stopped by and the wife said, "I bet the noise is driving you crazy." My response was, "Not at all, because I don't have to be up there making the noise." It took us three days to get the roof prepped, it might take them three hours to get the roof finished....and it's worth every penny!

Are you serious?! Wow. Murphy's law is hard at work there, isn't it?! And I love the vision of your cute pregnant self up there stripping shingles! A real pioneer woman!
I'm glad you aren't having to install. How are the windows?
